The truth about a career in STEM is that it is very achievable, as long as you are continuously encouraged to follow through with your interests. I felt lonely in school as I was one of the only girls interested in pursuing a STEM career. No one was ever encouraging girls to pursue this field. To my surprise, I met some amazing women through my engineering degree – and not just a few but many. I sincerely hope that the world is changing and we will see an increase of women in STEM. After all, ingenuity is independent of gender.
