I have been surprised in Earth science by how many opportunities and possibilities appear when you go looking for them. I have found that by being openly enthusiastic and interested in various fields of science, scientists already within those fields have encouraged and guided me towards new experiences and possibilities. Chasing the opportunities that have interested me the most has brought me much further along the STEM path than I initially imagined.
