I have never been one to follow the pack and have always had an interest in doing practical things. I am a problem solver. Whenever I came home with a new idea my parents would ask “What do you need to do to make it happen?”. I had to find the confidence to follow my interests.

I became an electrician, later studied for a Master’s degree, and somewhere along the line, combined the two. Now I support research and teaching in Marine Science. My days can vary from doing analytical chemistry to setting up marine systems or building electrical gadgets.
