I grew up watching Bill Nye the Science Guy on television — I wanted to be just like him. In my eyes, he had the best job in the world: he got to do all kinds of experiments and talk to all kinds of interesting people. Inspired, I went to university and studied theatre and then went back to study geology and volcanoes. Now I’m training to be an early childhood kaiako, mixing my passion for the arts with my understanding of science as I learn alongside tamariki: wondering, questioning, experimenting, exploring. “Play is the highest form of research” – Albert Einstein
