Watching the Apollo 11 documentary transformed me. It was the spark that ignited my passion for the Apollo program and made me want to consume every bit of literature and documentation about 1960s spaceflight, from researching the Apollo 11 workshop manual to astronaut biographies. I can now name every man who walked on the moon, and I am very excited about a woman being the next one. My passion for Apollo has helped me explore mathematics, digital technology, and science at Otago Girls’ from different perspectives and cement my love for STEM. It encourages me to reach for the stars.
