Dayna Gallagher

Ko Ngati Kahungunu mea Ngati Maniapoto oku iwi, He tauira Tākuta ahau,

Ko Dayna Kahurangi Gallagher toku ingoa

I have experienced a fair amount of discrimination during my time studying. The pale complexion of my skin causes some to question my Māori whakapapa. My Māori whakapapa causes others to question my academic abilities. But I will not let the ignorance of others stop me from succeeding. I aspire to enrich the healthcare system with more Māori Tikanga, creating a more welcoming environment for all. I would like to encourage all who face such challenges as myself to be resilient, be ambitious, but, most importantly, be yourself.
